Hello, my name is Mike Vakos and I’m the owner of Tri-County Inspections located in Avon, OH.  I have lived in the Avon area since 2009 with my wife (Claudia) and three children (Dominic, Nathanial and Ariana).  My wife is a middle school teacher in the Westlake School system and my kids are very active in the Avon Schools and with extra circular activities.

Prior to becoming a home inspector, I owned my own insurance agency for a nationally recognized company for over 10 years.   I have performed over 1000 field inspections and strive to deliver an honest, fair and professional report for all my clients.  I love helping home buyers, sellers and real estate agents as they work through their real estate transaction.

Tri-County Inspections was founded in 2001 by Mike Musto and he successfully completed over 5,000 inspections for satisfied clients.  Mike is now retired from the inspection business but will continue to support the growth of the company through his expertise and knowledge of the industry.

I hope you find my information useful and I look forward to helping you however I can during your buying or selling process.

Radon Test This inspection includes the placement of testing devices to measure the ongoing level of radon in the habitable areas of the home. These measurements evaluate the level of radon to determine if any form of improvement is required. Mold Test It is impossible to get rid of all mold and mold spores indoors; some mold spores will be found floating through the air and in house dust. The mold spores will not grow if moisture is not present. Indoor mold growth can and should be prevented or controlled by controlling moisture indoors. If there is mold growth in your home, you must clean up the mold and fix the water problem. If you clean up the mold, but don’t fix the water problem, then, most likely, the mold problem will come back. Septic Test A technician will perform a fluorescent dye “use and function” test which is a “gross indicator” of the operation of the system and not an intensive “pick and shovel” examination. This test is a screening procedure to determine minimal performance of a septic system, which is effected by many uncontrollable factors such as weather conditions, nature and extent of the system’s use.
